Prompt

A prompt in my blog group this month was 'Water' and we were free to interpret that however we wanted. I love waterfalls, so I went with that. Most of these didn't have the location with the picture so I am not sure where most of these beautiful waterfalls are, but the pictures are gorgeous.
I'm also tagging this as a wordless Wednesday since the pictures themselves don't have any words.

100th entry!!

This is my 100th entry!! I've had the blog a little over a year now, and although I've been ignoring it lately, I love writing random entries. My son started camp this week, so I thought I would write a little today.

We are 3 weeks into summer vacation and I am a little sad we really haven't done much at all. The last week of school, which was a half week, we took my best friend's son to swim practice. That was fun, b/c my son and I swam for free during his practice. My son didn't know how to swim, and since we don't have access to a pool at our apartment, I thought we would take the chance to try and teach him how to swim. He was sooo close to getting the hang of it, just needed a little push. So the next week, I signed him up for lessons at the same pool. We spent another week heading to the pool every day, which I didn't mind at all. And by the end of the first practice he was going under water!! Swimming like a fish. He was doing so well and I was so excited he finally got the hang of it.

Last week, I started my summer schedule at my part time job, and we had another week until camp started. I thought we would do all of the fun things, since we were done with swim practice. The library!! The splash park!! Kings Dominion!! Reality....we did nothing. Well, actually I did go to the library to get book 2 in the series I was reading, but that was a quick in and out. He didn't want to do the kid movies either ;(

Basically, we spent last week sitting in the house playing 'The Sims' and just hanging out. We've been having really bad storms here for the past few weeks. They usually only last a few mins, but it looks stormy all day, which makes it hard to plan anything fun. He started camp yesterday though and tomorrow we are going to kings dominion with some friends, so hopefully our summer will become more eventful!

Hope everyone else is having a good summer <3

Pin-it Tuesday

My son's birthday is next month and he wants a Harry Potter party! It's going to be outside, so I won't be able to do too much as far as the theme goes, but I've been searching on pintrest for the invitation and other ideas. Realistically, even if it wasn't outside I wouldn't be able to pull any of this off, but it's fun to pretend

He wants to do some sort of wand craft, but I am not sure what we will do since I think kids will mostly want to be in the water.

I think we will just end up doing something simple with decorations, but I do have a friend who loves Harry Potter and is a baker, so I think I am going to ask her to make the cake. In a dream world, my gift to my son would be tickets to Harry Potter World!! Maybe one day.... *sigh*
