7 Years old!!

Yesterday was my son's birthday!! I requested the day off, and usually his dad doesn't have to work either and we do something together, but this year he did. So it was just me and the birthday boy all day!!

We started the day off with me sleeping until almost 10! B/c I work overnights, he's usually really good about entertaining himself while I sleep for a few. He wanted to go to the museum here in town, so we headed downtown, had some lunch and then to the museum.On the way to the museum he got a call from paw patrol wishing him a happy birthday!!! I couldn't hear the phone call, but he seemed pretty excited about it :-)  I still had to do some shopping, so we didn't stay as long as we usually do. He hung out with Grandma while I ran and did some quick shopping. We had dinner at 6 so after shopping we went home. He took a nap! And I read my book. I haven't had a birthday that was just me and him, and it was really nice to just get to do what we wanted and go where we wanted.

Next was dinner. I have a hard time at family dinners with my son's dad there. I'm not really sure why except for the fact that I feel like everyone acts weird when he's there. Including him. He tells really weird stories and it just makes me uncomfortable. I don't know if he does it to be funny, or what, but I just don't want my mom listening to stories about how you use to buy alcohol at the age of 15.  Of course, no one gets it and every one just thinks I'm being a bitch and its super frustrating. My son's dad and I get along pretty well, that's not the issue. Idk, sometimes I just don't like him around friends or family. It makes me anxious, and I don't have a good time. But no one else can relate, and they just think I'm being pety or a bitch.

But I survived dinner and since I was off that night we went home and had a "Secret Party"!! when I told my son I was off for his birthday, he got super excited and asked could we have a secret party after dinner. I had wanted to do sparklers that were left over from the 4th but it was raining :-( So instead we played with his new tea set, and had a tea party with his Hatchamil.
